Area of the table : [latex] pi [/latex][latex] 4^{2} [/latex] = 50.3 Area of the Carpet : [latex] pi [/latex][latex] 12^{2} [/latex] = 452.39 Remaining Area : 452.39 - 50.3 = 402 [latex] m^{2} [/latex]

so find the areas and subtract area=pi times radius^2 radius=1/2diameter carpet d=24 carpet r=24/2=12 carpet area=pi times 12^2=144pi table d=8 carpet r=8/2=4 carpet area=pi times 4^2=16pi so we subtract 144pi-16pi=128pi answer is 128pi m^2 if aprox pi to 3.14 then 128 times 3.14=401.92 m^2
